Bruce Currie decries “the Russian invasion of Ukraine” while simultaneously justifying dictator Vladimir Putin’s pretexts for war. In 1997 the NATO-Russia Foundation Act was signed recognizing NATO would expand to “all emerging European democracies.” Ukraine is a democracy and President Volodymr Zelensky continues to courageously resist the civilian murdering Russian fascists. It’s Putin’s regime which gives sanctuary to the Neo-Nazi “Russian Imperial Movement” a designated terrorist organization that’s active in the Donbas along with the Pro-Russian Neo-Nazi “Sparta” Battalion which needs “denazification.”
The Ukrainian people have overwhelmingly rejected Neo-Nazis and their candidates in 2019 they received 2.15% of the vote winning no seats in the 450 member Parliament. This isn’t surprising. The vast crimes of Nazism and Stalinism murdering millions of Ukrainians permeates the nation’s consciousness of Ukraine. In the Donbas, Human Rights Watch in 2021 reported that “Russia backed” separatists “continue to torture, arbitrarily detain and forcibly disappear civilians and deny them access to medical care.” The United Nations revealed that from 2014-2019 3,390 civilians from both sides, 4,200 Ukrainian soldiers and 5,800 pro-Russian gunmen have been killed in the Donbas. This is no genocide. Ukrainians comprised some forty percent of the Red Army which crushed Nazi Germany only to see Stalin’s barbarity continue in Ukraine; Putin’s the new Stalin.
