I almost always agree with Jonathan Baird about pretty much everything. However, I disagree with the premise of his recent piece, “The Problem With Democrats.” (Monitor, 5/23) The problem with Democrats, aside from Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, is not Democrats. The problem is Republicans.
Want reasonable gun regulation? Reproductive rights? Immigration reform? Action on the climate crisis? Election integrity? Ethical Supreme Court justices? There is one simple (yet not so simple) answer. I will repeat what I said in a previous letter: elect more Democrats!
