Your recent announcement of the revision on the Sunday paper had me looking forward to this week’s Sunday Monitor with great anticipation. I appreciate the addition of Crabgrass and Sherman’s Lagoon, and especially the restoration of Non Sequitur to your lineup. The explanation of the revision of the placement of the comics, however, failed to mention that it would require a substantial reduction in the size of the strips. I nearly needed a magnifying glass to read the text in some of the strips, and for Doonesbury, perhaps, a microscope.

I sympathize with the need to save money in these trying times for newspapers, and I understand the need to reduce the amount of newsprint. But wouldn’t it be worth it to expand the size of the strips a bit in order to make them legible? This would be appreciated, especially by senior citizens, who these days make up an increasingly large percentage of your readers.
