I’ve read that the property owned by CenterPoint church is still under negotiations with the city and the church will be voting to sell the property or pull out. My question is why are we still considering the property? When the school committee met with residents it was brought up that the current location had plenty of room to build a new school while still using the existing building. This hadn’t been presented prior to the meeting as an alternative until a town resident asked.

Now knowing that it’s an option, why would we move to a location that one, would be located along a busy road with limited capacity and require traffic studies to accommodate the new school. Two, very few walkable neighborhoods abutting the property and require all students be bused or driven by parents. Three, require complete site evaluation and environmental impact studies (which have not been done yet). And my final question is who benefits from moving the school to Clinton street? Has the school property been “promised” to a developer? Just wondering.
