“Conservatives” on the U.S. Supreme Court ruled there is no guarantee of privacy granted us by the U.S. Constitution. Accordingly, it has reduced the status of women to second class, introducing life-threatening medical consequences for being pregnant; and absent privacy, warns of the repeal of more rights. Filed at SCOTUS by two “conservative” N. Carolina legislators is Moore v Harper, claiming there should be no checks and balances in elections; that state legislatures, alone, possess the authority to set election rules and, therefore, election outcomes; that their authority to control elections is absolute. This is not democracy, this is anarchy.
Many “conservative” candidates pledge to privatize or repeal Social Security; or require Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security be authorized by Congress annually, ending guaranteed benefits, guaranteeing the collapse of these programs; to reject elections won by Democrats; to cut retirement benefits for younger workers. You pay for these benefits from the moment you enter the workforce, thus, your contributions will be subject to theft. Autocracies always lead to theft. Given majority status by you, “conservative” leadership promises years of reprisal, investigations, and punishment for Democrats who sought to defend the rule of law. On the November ballot is the sanctity of privacy, and social progress made by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the federal school lunch program; disability insurance; labor union rights, indeed the entirety of the social safety net. Periods of Inflation come and go. So do Democracies. You can help me defend ours.
