D-II Girls’ Soccer

No. 8 John Stark 3, No. 9 Lebanon 1

Key players: John Stark  – Becca Mussey (goal, assist), Meghan Rousseau (goal), Maddy Parker (goal), Avery Geaumont (assist), Reagan Lamothe (assist)

Highlights: Lebanon took a 1-0 lead early, but Geaumont set up Mussey for a goal on a corner kick, and less than a minute later Mussey set up Rousseau for the game-winning goal. Lamothe assisted on Parker’s insurance goal, cementing John Stark’s spot in Friday’s quarterfinal at top-ranked Bow. Bow defeated the Generals twice, 2-0, and 3-0, during the regular season.

Coach’s quote: “Stark went 1-0 down in the first 15 minutes of the game and stayed that way for 60 minutes. Knowing this was win-or-be-done, the girls took all the risks and went fully offensive, sending everything at Lebanon throwing caution to the wind. A comeback for the books.” – John Stark’s Chris Pike

Records: John Stark 9-7-1; Lebanon 8-9-0
