For full disclosure, I am a candidate for the NH House. The recent quality and quantity of reporting in the Monitor has left me convinced that it is no longer a fair and independent voice. Your editorial policies and writers have all done a hard turn to the left, and the letters to the editor that you publish about conservatives would be widely condemned for their disparagements if they were directed towards liberals. Most news stories now include editorializing when referring to conservative views. So let me set the record straight.

After Republicans, over Democrat objections, lowered the meals and business profits taxes, revenues went up. More money is going back to the cities and towns. I plan to introduce legislation to give property tax relief to seniors, and increase the credits for disabled veterans, I will support school accountability, because parents, not school boards, are ultimately responsible for a child’s moral and physical development. The liberals in the Merrimack 9 race have no platform to gloat. School boards have been responsible for the policies that have led to the decline in student academic performance and their associated mental health. The members of the House Education Committee had zero impact, other than to act as spoilers when they actually took the time to show up. The Bow Board of Selectmen have a hand in the recent destruction of a neighborhood wetland recreation area without notice to the neighbors. These are not the actions of responsible stewards of the public trust.
