Even though the trail was empty, the path along the Contoocook River, behind the T.D. Bank in Contoocook, was active. As temperatures rose into the 40’s Monday afternoon, ice in all forms – thick, geometric slabs, dripping grass-icles, river-top scales – began to melt and crack.
