Pembroke Academy, which was founded in 1818, kicked-off its bicentennial celebration with a day of events at the high school Saturday.
Students performed skits of key moments in the school’s history. Peter Mehegan, a 30-year veteran teacher at Pembroke Academy, re-enacted the school’s founding with a dramatic reading – in full period costume – of Dr. Abel Blanchard’s will. And former headmaster Bill Marston returned to give a keynote address.
