A Franklin man will spend more than eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine.
Brian Sanborn, 53, was sentenced Wednesday to serve 102 months in prison on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
According to court documents, New Hampshire State Police executed a search warrant Dec. 8 at Sanbornโs residence and seized approximately 17 grams of โnearly pureโ methamphetamine in the basement. Authorities also located seven firearms: four revolvers, two shotguns and a semi-automatic rifle.
โMethamphetamine is a dangerous drug that is appearing with increasing frequency in the Granite State,โ U.S. Attorney Scott Murray said in a statement. โIn order to protect the public, we will work closely with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute methamphetamine traffickers, particular those who endanger the community by possessing firearms while engaging in the drug trade.โ
The case against Sanborn was investigated by federal, state and local authorities.
