Demagogue Donald J. Trump needed a bogeyman to inflame the hatred of his voter base to get them to the polls. Trump, as he’s done before, chose to demonize a few thousand asylum seekers, mostly people fleeing the violence and poverty in Honduras, who’ll probably never reach the border of the United States.

However, the hysteria Trump’s fomenting regarding this caravan, declaring a “national emergency” where none exists, and his incendiary rhetoric asserting it’s an “invasion” of this country by an army of criminals and terrorists funded by the Democratic Party, has all been debunked as fabrications. Trump even admitted that he had no proof for his outrageous accusations, but this charlatan couldn’t care less.

No one should ever believe Trump, who infamously retweets white supremacists, but another conspiracy-minded lunatic, Robert Bowers, apparently did. He thought this and other caravans are coming to destroy America, and blaming Jews, particularly George Soros, for bringing them went on a rampage murdering 11 people at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Our nation mourns this horrific tragedy.

A day earlier, Cesar Sayoc, the alleged MAGA bomber who attempted to use 15 pipe bombs to assassinate two former Democratic presidents and others, including Soros, all notable targets of Trump’s invective, was fortunately arrested. If the American way of life is to endure, this evil president’s power must be constrained by a Democratic Congress that vigorously challenges Trump’s demagoguery and his unjust policies and who will make certain the Mueller investigation continues unimpeded to its conclusion.

Vote blue. America’s future depends upon it.
