When Jacob Chiza watched the video showing the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer in Minneapolis on TV, he thought to himself, “enough is enough.”
“I said, ‘I need to step up,’” said Chiza, 22, of Manchester. “I need to make change. They need to hear us because enough is enough because it just keeps happening over and over again.”
Chiza joined nearly 200 people Monday at the Seashell Stage at Hampton Beach for a Black Lives Matter protest of the killing of Floyd. He also attended similar protests in Manchester and in Boston.
Attendees at Hampton Beach held up signs reading “End Police Brutality,” “Justice for Floyd,” “Outraged” and “My Life Matters.”
