Towns across the capital region are preparing for the spookiest weekend of the year with festivities spanning the latter half of month.

In Deerfield, celebrations began early with a tailgate trick-or-treat at the fairgrounds on Saturday, Oct. 25, which ended in a spectacular fireworks display.

Neighboring towns are exploring equally creative ways to mark the holiday. Consider taking a ghost tour at Canterbury Shaker Village or bringing costumed littles to the Halloween Parade in Warner.
