Trump invades to distract
Trump learned from others. When the economy tanks, use an invasion to distract Americans. But the Venezuelan invasion shows Trump playing a longer game than just concealing his economic chaos.
His Venezuelan invasion sets precedent for future invasion-distractions. He’s already talking about invading Columbia, Greenland and Cuba. Each invasion addresses some “cause”: drugs, threats to oil production, our tech need for precious metals. Each invasion will distract us from his chaos-ridden economy. Distractions hide Trump’s scheming.
The general wisdom since Roosevelt is not to remove a wartime president. Trump is counting on this for 2028 when he wants a third term. Even Trump knows America will oppose this unconstitutional action. Therefore, just before the election he will start another war. Trump cites the theory of not removing a war president and remains in power.
The issue is power, never drugs.
Trump’s drug-stopping claim fails because he pardoned Honduras’s ex-president, Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was a convicted and jailed narco-trafficker. Venezuela lays the groundwork for Trump to remain in power.
Trump can’t both to save the economy and serve the wealthy. He needs Big Oil, so he gifts them Venezuela’s oil to “administer” (read: drain). Greenland will attract Big Tech, so they can “administer” its precious metals. MAGA faithful get Cuba because they hate this nearby communist country.
Trump invades to distract. He distracts for power. He wants power, not a prosperous America.
