The state of our country

The recent killing of Renee Good should give all of us pause to think about the state of our country. The ICE officer who killed Renee Good shot her three times: once through the corner of her front windshield, and twice at point blank range through her open side window. The bullets that killed her came through the same side window that seconds before she had leaned out of to tell an ICE officer that she was not mad.

It is not comprehensible that shooting her twice at point blank range through her open driverโ€™s side window could be self defense. It is incontrovertible that the ICE officer shot her while standing to the side of the car. His arm was straight and extended almost into the window of her car.

Are we all so numbed by the events of the past year that we can watch a law enforcement officer stand at the side of a car and murder a women by shooting her at point blank range and accept that it was done in self defense?
