Policing the police
When Chris Pappas says he doesn’t want to defund ICE, but wants to instead divert the “extra” funding for ICE to the police, I hear another in a long line of political pallywhacking he is adept at spewing.
Why not defund an unlawful, untrained and out-of-control police force that shoots American citizens? Mr. Pappas is a crusader for the mighty, the armed, the military. He wants to be in good boots with the tough guys. Why not divert the monies to policing the police? Why not mandate more training? Why not mandate uniformed officers being trained to understand civil rights laws?
Since George Floyd was murdered on television six years ago, our police forces have been armed even more. So what are we getting out of this? Don’t our tax dollars need to go to solving problems? Our policed society is way over the top with arming police, negligent and at times oblivious to the needs of the citizens.
