Registration for Concord National Youth Softball looks a little different this spring season.

Historically, the city has had two separate softball programs; this year, the programs are merging, a change the league’s vice president, Mike Vlacich, said he’s excited for.

“The goal is to strengthen the youth softball development program in the city, leverage resources better, ease burden on volunteers a bit,” he said.

The unified program is open to children ages five through 16 who live within the Concord school district.

The spring season will run from April through early June, and players registered before the March 1 deadline are eligible for free spring indoor clinics. Registration will remain available after March 1, but late fees will apply.

Returning players must register at the same level as last year, unless they have aged up, and coaches will determine final placements after spring evaluations.
