Spiritual Revival Article missed the mark

In my opinion, Reverend Jonathan Threlfall’s opinion piece about spiritual revival seemed to miss some points. When one reads the news of the world and of our own country, one can see that religious zealots of all religions create bad blood and even wars.

In Concord alone, we have Muslims, Catholics, Hindus and Jews. He never referred to them. I hope I am wrong. But, I draw the inference that his piece on religious revival was narrowly focused.

Read the words of St. John of the Cross: “Where there is no love, put love and you will find love.” It is a famous maxim from St. John of the Cross, a 16th-century Spanish mystic and Carmelite friar. It signifies that one should actively introduce love, kindness and compassion into difficult or empty situations โ€” rather than waiting for it to appear โ€” which will ultimately generate love in return.

The opinion piece failed to mention that God wants us to act with kindness to everyone.
