Madison Beauregard, one of Concord’s most dominant wrestlers, will be heading down to Pennsylvania this fall to join a relatively new women’s program.
The program at Arcadia University will be in its third year when she joins and she’s excited to be part of something that can only go up while tackling her pre-med classes.
“They came from a previous school, built that one up, and were very successful,” she said of the coaching staff. “Then they started at Arcadia, and they’re building it up.”
Beauregard is one of nine Concord High students who made their commitment to pursuing collegiate athleticsย .
Before signing their commitment letters Wednesday night, each one had a small comment about their favorite memory as members of the Crimson Tide.
Between overnight tournaments, championships, and even a trip to NHSCA High School Nationals in Virginia Beach, Beauregard was grateful for her teammates during her four years at Concord.
“My favorite memory is the bonding we did as a team,” Beauregard said.
Here’s the full list of the Tide student-athletes moving on to NCAA competition.
Alex Turant, Baseball, Winthrop University
Turant was a key infielder at third and shortstop, and provided big at-bats last season for Concord. He’s still looking forward to one last shot before heading off far away.
The 6-foot-3 righty said he always wanted to go down south for university. He got his wish with Winthrop, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
“The weather is a big plus. I really like the coaching staff, very nice facilities down there, and there’s nothing better than playing baseball in the south,” he said.
Liam Yeatman, Lacrosse, Wheaton College
It was a tough decision for Yeatman. He received interest from other programs and was unsure of which option was the best. An overnight stay at Wheaton changed everything.
“Doing that visit with the guys on the team, learning the chemistry they had, I think that was the gamechanger,” he said.
He’s looking forward to the tight-knit feel at Wheaton and within the men’s lacrosse program. Same as Turant, he’s still got another season of lacrosse to finish in Concord and he is excited to play alongside his large class of fellow seniors.
Jaylyn Wessling, Softball, Emmanuel College
Wessling hopes the location and opportunities in Boston open a lot of doors for her. In terms of athletics, she loved the team culture โ loud and energetic โ and she said she thinks she’ll fit right in.
She hasn’t quite decided on a major yet, but has a few options in mind. For now, finishing up her last season of softball and wrapping up high school are at the top of the list.
“I’m bouncing between political science and secondary education,” Wessling said. “I’m leaning more toward political science as of right now, but anything could change.”

Amy Desrochers, Field Hockey, St. Lawrence University
As soon as Desrochers stepped on campus, she could feel the good vibes. The strong sense of community and the immediate feeling of sisterhood on the field hockey team were key to her decision.
She will definitely miss Concord’s team, and she highlighted the big upset over Dover in the playoffs as one of her favorite memories. Academically, though, she’s excited for pre-med.
“I think that sports will help keep me accountable and keep me locked in,” she said.
Lexi Magee, Field Hockey, Misericordia University
The coaches in the field hockey program and the medical imaging program were exactly what she was looking for.
The Pennsylvania-based team consistently makes the playoffs and had a 16-4 season last year. It was an easy decision for Magee, who found exactly what she was searching for on both the academic and athletic sides.

Noah Wyatt and Roland Gilbert, Lacrosse, New England College
The Tide teammates will be a big addition for the Pilgrims’ lacrosse program. The two highlighted the community within the team and how they both felt like shoe-ins for it.
Like many of the other spring athletes who signed on Wednesday, they’re getting ready for one more season.
“This is the last year, so we’re putting it all on the field,” Wyatt said.
Gilbert said he thinks the team will have the best defense in the state. The team features over 10 seniors, so it should be in a good spot to contend.
Overall, the two were excited to learn that the other was committed to the NEC Lacrosse program. Both plan to study health science-related majors, so they’ll most likely have classes together, too.
Jaxon Carter, Wrestling, New England College
Carter enjoyed the overnight stay with the ‘Grims. It’s close to home and he knows a few people already there as the college is a popular local destination.
He’s most excited for the jump in competition from the high school to the college level. “I’m looking forward to getting better, hopefully winning a lot,” Carter said.
His academic pursuit is still undecided, but he said he’s leaning toward business.

Ella Gray, Softball, UMass Boston
Gray was not in attendance for signing night, but the outfielder/utility player will join her teammate, Jaylyn, in Boston. However, they may end up playing each other a few times per year at rival schools.
