A Concord man was arrested Tuesday after he crashed into a State Police cruiser while intoxicated, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

Around 7:45 p.m., a state Trooper drove down the Exit 12N off-ramp on I-93 South, yielding at a sign to merge onto Route 3A. It was at that moment that a silver 2022 Ford Explorer drove onto the ramp, failing to stop and crashing into the back of the cruiser, according to State Police.

Richard Talbot, 63, of Concord, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. EMS personnel evaluated Talbot and the Trooper at the scene; both were uninjured. The trooper’s K-9, Soka, was also unharmed.

Talbot was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on April 10.
