Transgender females out of women’s events
Reading an article from the Associated Press in the Concord Monitor on March 27, “Transgender females out of women’s events,” took me back to my high school days.
While in high school, I bought a 1962 VW Beetle from our neighbor. At the time I was looking for transportation to my job at Rocky’s Gulf in Hooksett. I pumped gas, changed tires and did oil changes.
Rocky helped me get my car “roadworthy.” The racetrack in Loudon had “grudge night” and a bunch of us would go up and race each other in the ¼ mile for “bragging rights.” V-8s against 4-cylinders, 6-cylinders against V-8s. My 4-cylinder’s only chance against these more powerful cars was in the first 10 seconds . . . did my opponent slip the clutch or hesitate too long? We’d enjoy razzing each other in school — obviously around a bunch of our friends.
I have a hard time understanding how a fair playing field can exist when biological males are competing against biological females. It would be like my 4-cylinder VW beating out an 8-cylinder GTO . . . the odds are against it.
I support the executive order by President Trump to ban transgender females from women’s sport events.
