People’s right to their own land
On March 31, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz made this statement: “All houses in villages near the Lebanese border will be destroyed, in accordance with the model used in Rafah and Beit Hanoun in Gaza.”
He also said that Israel will maintain control “over the entire area up to the Litani River, including the remaining Litani bridges.” He also said, “All houses in villages near the Lebanese border will be destroyed.”
The Litani River is about 20 miles north of Lebanon’s border with Israel, and makes up almost 10% of the Lebanon homeland.
More than 1.1 million Lebanese have been displaced and another 1,200 have been killed in Lebanon during Israel’s recent attacks. Twenty percent of the country’s entire population have been forced from their homes, creating a humanitarian crisis.
Israel now totally controls the Golan Heights and Gaza. The U.S. opposes Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but sends billions of our dollars to support Israel’s land grab from Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.
Israel does this with our bombs, our tax dollars and the full support of our federal government, including all four of our federal legislators: Sen. Sheehan, Sen. Hassan, Rep. Pappas and Rep. Goodlander. It is unconscionable.
