Letter: As primary approaches, stand up for gun rights

If you are a Democrat and a gun owner, you need to carefully vet the candidate you support in the February 2020 primary.

This primary season, the 2020 candidates have fallen all over themselves to propose draconian anti-gun measures. Beto O’Rourke has advocated outright gun confiscation. Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker have proposed “gun control” plans that would make you a criminal for not registering your granddad’s hunting rifle with the federal government. The plans proposed by these candidates are not right for New Hampshire.

In New Hampshire, we have a long tradition of responsible gun ownership. We do not need to ask the federal government’s permission in the form of licensing or registration to keep our firearms.

In February 2020, New Hampshire gun owners need to use our first-in-the-nation primary to tell these candidates loud and clear we do not support their radical anti-gunowner agenda.
