I couldn’t help but notice the article about our state congressional members mocking the mothers against gun violence by wearing pearls.
Well, although I am not surprised by the antics of our right-wing gun nut reps, I do want to point out that this is an important bill that will save lives. I can’t see why anyone would not be in favor of removing guns from the hands of men who have beaten their wives and have threatened to kill them or from deranged people who have threatened to kill themselves or others around them.
If your child had a baseball bat and threatened to hit other kids with it, wouldn’t you take it away from him? It is just common sense to see an obvious problem and do something about it. Complete background checks and red flag laws do this. They do not take guns from men like some of our representatives, who feel the need to hold their guns and caress them on a regular basis.
When you care less about the lives of our citizens than you do about playing with your big guns, then you should be replaced.
