■A new face is in the Town Clerk’s Office. Sam, from the Canterbury Town Clerk’s Office, is assisting Bonnie Potter, our acting town clerk, for a few months. A new town clerk will be elected in March.
■Chichester lost a skilled tradesman who helped build many homes in Chichester. Anthony “Tony” Tepper passed away on Dec. 13. We extend sympathy to his family.
■The Historical Society will meet on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at its Main Street location.
■The Chichester Police Department assists families year round when help is needed. Children were especially supported by the Secret Santa Fund over Christmas. The donations were given by area residents and businesses. Thank you to the volunteers who shopped, wrapped and delivered gifts to families.
■Several hundred pounds of food were given to town residents who needed a little extra help through at Christmas. The Chichester Food Pantry, in conjunction with the Capital Area Food Assistance Program, provided the boxes for distribution. If you need assistance with food, contact Kristy Wiley at Town Hall.
■The Chichester Country Store has warm shirts for sale.
■The Chichester Grange made a donation to the Chichester Police Department Secret Santa Fund in honor of the Grange’s Golden Sheaf members. A Golden Sheaf member is someone who has had membership for 50 years.
■If you are planning on burning brush, you need 100 feet of snow around your brush pile. If the snow has disappeared, you will need a burning permit. Burning permits and can be obtained online. Email aquimby@chichesternh.org with questions.
■Carol Hendee has retired as the Town Crier after serving for five years. Thank you, Carol!
■I send greetings as we navigate this journey known as COVID-19 in 2021 as your new Town Crier.
