The topic of the September meeting of the Buntin-Rumford-Webster Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) was “Hannah Leathers Wilson’s Coverlets” – including a display of one of the numbered coverlets held by the NH Historical Society.
The presenters included Donna Belle Garvin, retired NHHS employee and local historian; and Craig Evans, accomplished weaver.
Members of the public enjoyed the informative presentations, viewing a sample loom, and one of the numbered coverlets.
Hannah Leathers Wilson, of New Hampshire, has coverlets now held at Shelburne Museum, The Smithsonian, Old Sturbridge Village, and numerous other museums. Donna-Belle Garvin was presented with a certificate recognizing her contributions to historic preservation, education, and her numerous publications.
