Follow Pendleton story

The story of Jeffrey Pendleton’s mysterious death while being held at the Valley Street jail (Monitor Forum, April 15) is deeply disturbing. I hope when the medical examiner’s additional tests are completed, the Monitor and other press outlets will report the findings.

I urge the authorities at the Valley Street jail to fully investigate his death and urge the attorney general and Gov. Hassan to push for an explanation. Perhaps he had an unknown medical condition, but until a full review is completed, the fact that Pendleton was a homeless African-American, had been a plaintiff in two lawsuits regarding his constitutional rights (both of which he won) and had participated in the Fight for $15 campaign, makes one wonder.

Thank you Jonathan Baird for once again bringing an important issue to our attention.
