The new Trump-ublican Party is mostly liars. With Trump as the leader of the GOP, it has become mostly liars who, for some reason, have lost their backbone. The GOP used to be (maybe 30 to 40 years ago) a political party which respected others, no matter their political opinions. It’s not the same party today. Google “Trump lies” and read PolitiFact, FactCheck.org, HuffPost, NY Times, Washington Post (more than 30,000 lies over 4 years). In fact, any of a dozen sources, except Fox News (an entertainment channel posing as a news source).
I was glad to see Rep. Liz Cheney (daughter of Dick Cheney) saying Trump should never again get into the Oval Office. That Trump encouraged the insurrectionists was appalling, but the Trump-ublican Party ousting her from her leadership role for challenging Trump was ridiculous. That the Trump-ublican Party attempts to brush off the Jan. 6 insurrection is ridiculous and stupid. Rep. Andrew Clyde compared Jan. 6 insurrection to merely tourists. As if tourists break windows, kill policeman and sit in Speaker Pelosi’s office. Rep. Jody Hice painted them as “victims.” This is all because Trump refuses to agree that he lost the election and is no longer president. He insists he won, and “if you tell a lie often enough it will be taken as truth.” Joseph Goebbels may have believed this, but not the American public. Certainly not this former Republican.
