In response to the recent ad depicting Donald Trump mocking the disabled: Let us not forget that Barack Obama, just prior to becoming president, said of his bowling skills, “It’s like the Special Olympics,” while on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
As to what’s in his “soul,” you might want to ask the hundreds of employees whose children were in need of specialized treatment in hospitals far from their homes.
Trump had lent his private jet as well as accommodations for the parents while their child was in treatment. He’s not asked for accolades or recognition for his generosity. But let’s be fair. Mocking anyone with disabilities is wrong. But at least Trump struck back at an adult who struck him first, not a special needs child.
