A Northwood man was convicted of arson this week, 5½ years after he started a fire at an unoccupied residence on Chestnut Street in Pittsfield.
Christopher Vincent, 43, was found guilty of Class B Felony arson in Merrimack Superior Court. He was acquitted of an additional charge of arson. No date has been set for sentencing.
Prosecutors alleged that Vincent ignited newspapers in the windows of the Chestnut Street building on Jan. 1, 2016. He was arrested in June of 2019.
No one from the Office of the State Fire Marshal could be reached late Thursday afternoon.
In a separate arson charge, Vincent was indicted for allegedly starting a fire by igniting debris next to a barn on Tilton Hill Road in Pittsfield on May 20, 2017.
He faces two arson charges in connection with that incident. The case is still pending.
