The Boston Celtics picked up their third straight postseason victory Thursday, holding off the Brooklyn Nets, 100-97, at the Barclays Center.
The Celtics, who finished the game with a handful of young players on the floor, went on an 8-2 run in the final minutes. The run was aided by the Celtics’ No. 1 draft choice in 2016, Jaylen Brown.
Brown had a pretty left-handed, behind-the-back pass to Jordan Mickey, who slammed in the go-ahead bucket. Brown also went 4-for-4 from the free throw line over the final 48 seconds. The No. 3 overall pick finished with 10 points, three assists and two rebounds.
Jonas Jerebko provided a solid veteran presence in Boston’s fourth preseason tilt, scoring 12 points in 16 minutes and grabbing five rebounds with three assists.
Al Horford nearly missing a double-double and finished with 13 points and nine rebounds in 21 minutes. Horford was 5-for-8 from the field, while the rest of Boston’s starters combined to go 8-for-30 from the field.
The Nets (1-3) were led by Luis Scola’s 14-point, 11-rebound effort, while Trevor Booker added 11 points and 12 rebounds. Jeremy Lin finished with 12 points and seven assists.
