My name is Cara Meeker and I am running for Concord School Board to represent District B (Wards 5, 6, and 7). I live in Ward 7 with my husband and daughter, and I am running for school board as a strong supporter of public education and with a desire to be in service to my community. As a parent, I want what we all want: for school to be a safe and supportive place to learn for every child, and is thriving in academics, sports, art, music, and more. As a community member, I am excited to get to work and get creative in achieving what’s possible for our district. Concord school district has the potential to be the example that other districts look to for what is going right.
Professionally, I work in the nonprofit sector as an office manager. I also have nearly ten years’ experience working as a nonpartisan legislative editor at the state level. My work’s focus was governmental affairs, covering everything from elections and taxes. I am ready to jump in as a school board member. I am comfortable drafting and assessing policy, reading budgets, and taking part in transparent public meetings. I hope to be a source of positivity, inclusion, and progress for Concord schools, and I humbly ask that you vote for Cara Meeker on November 8th.
