A Danbury man accused of setting a late-night fire that damaged a state warehouse on Stickney Avenue in Concord has been indicted.
Steven Rowell, 19, faces one felony count and one misdemeanor count of arson in connection with the March 19 incident.
Prosecutors allege that the fire at 11 Stickney Ave. caused more than $1,000 in damage to the southernmost building in the complex, which is used by the state’s department of transportation. They’ve also charged him with setting a brush fire on city-owned property nearby.
Concord firefighters said the warehouse sustained limited damage as a result of passerbys early detection of the blaze. Firefighters contained the blaze about in about 20 minutes. No one was injured.
The Stickney Avenue warehouse has been hit hard by crime and arson in recent years. In December, thieves broke in and stole thousands of dollars worth of donations from the annual charitable program, Operation Santa Claus.
Rowell is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 7 in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.
