Sam Brittain made 40 saves in Game 5 of the ECHL North Division Finals, but the Manchester Monarchs couldn’t clinch the series and fell to the Brampton Beast, 2-1, Wednesday night at SNHU Arena.
The Monarchs (7-4) still lead the series, 3-2, and have a chance to close out the Beast (6-5) on Friday night in Brampton, Ontario.
Brampton started the scoring midway through the first period on the power play, when David Ling scored his 1st goal of the playoffs.
The Monarchs tied things up in the second period on a power-play goal by Daniel Doremus, but Brampton regained the lead on a power-play goal by Reggie Traccitto later in the period.
The Monarchs were unable to score the tying goal despite a late power play and will head to Brampton to play Game 6 on Friday night.
