Bow 5, Pelham 0

Key players: Bow – Zachary Anderson (2G), Parker VanHam (G, A), Connor Wachsmuth (G), Ryan Leonard (G), Noah Leuchtenberger and Nate Dolder (defense)

Highlights: Wachsmuth scored his first varsity goal five minutes into the match when he headed a corner kick from Matt Selleck. Bow’s stayed at 1-0 15 minutes into the second half, but four goals in a 15-minute stretch put the game out of reach. Leonard (from VanHam) and VanHam (unassisted) scored in the flurry, as did Anderson (from Matt Ferland and Dustin Wells), who netted his first two varsity goals.

Coach’s quote: “What we were doing offensively before this game reminded me of the late great Strouther Martin as Captain in Cool Hand Luke when he said ‘What we got here is failure to communicate.’ Today we communicated for five goals. We just have to finish our communicating like Paul Newman going forward.” – Bow’s George Pinham

Records: Bow 4-1-1; Pelham 2-5-0
