Friends of Forgotten Children recently held its Christmas fair and open house; $1,100 was made by the hard-working volunteers and Volunteer Director Cheryl Correllus. The nonprofit provides a food pantry, clothes closet, more than 200 Thanksgiving baskets each year and fulfills holiday wishes for children and seniors through its Christmas Wish Star program. If you would like to donate or volunteer, visit fofc-nh.org.
Tune in today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. when ConcordTV will broadcast and stream the live Boys and Girls Club of Central New Hampshire’s television auction. All the proceeds will go to help hundreds of kids in the Concord area. Watch live on ConcordTV channels 6, 17, 22 or online at centralnhclubs.org. There are camera operator positions available if you can help out.
Several drives are underway at John Stark Regional High School to help those in need. The Art Club’s Toy Drive (Dec. 1 to 16) will support the communities of Henniker and Weare. New, unwrapped toys, books, art supplies, games, and gift cards all make great gifts for this drive. The Leos Club is organizing two drives: the Santa Paws Drive (Dec. 1 to 21) is gathering toys and food for homeless cats and dogs for the Pope Memorial SPCA and the Winter Clothing Drive (Dec. 17 to Feb. 14) is collecting gently-used and clean winter coats, hats and mittens for area refugees. Donations can be dropped off at the main office of the high school Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If your home or office has an over-abundance of envelopes, pens, colored paper or other supplies, consider donating them to The Friends Program. For information, call 228-1193.
