My name is Dr. Charles Hadden. I am 88 years old and have owned a gun since I was 10. But, times aren’t what they were right after WWII. Back then everyone wanted peace and togetherness. We all hunted and fished together, and the lucky ones like me enjoyed their days on the farm doing chores and milking by hand. We all had guns but never thought of them as anything but a means to bring home a meal. I now realize that the purpose of gun ownership has changed.
No longer hunting and perhaps defense as envisioned by the framers of the Second Amendment. Today, in this country, guns have become offensive. To kill our fellow Americans. How very sad! Perhaps our laws should change to mirror the change of use for guns in America? My lucky sister lives in England with her family. There is practically no gun violence in England. Because no one is allowed to own a gun, with the express exception of a shotgun for hunting. It’s time to rethink the Second Amendment and what it is supposed to be for.
