DIVISION II SEMIFINALS

No. 6 Pembroke vs.
No. 2 Goffstown, 5 p.m. at SNHU

HEAD TO HEAD: The two sides met early on in the season with Goffstown beating Pembroke, 3-1, on April 19.

PREVIOUS TOURNAMENT GAMES: The Spartans blanked No. 11 Windham, 4-0, before narrowly defeating No. 3 Pelham, 4-3, in the semifinals; Goffstown blew out No. 15 Portsmouth, 11-1, and survived in the semifinals against No. 7 Coe-Brown, 4-3.

NOTES: Pembroke has seemingly turned its late-season surge into playoff results, winning 10 straight games to reach the semifinals. The Spartans have been completely locked in inside the pitching circle, allowing just 1.5 runs per game during that span. They can’t afford to slip up now, especially against a Goffstown team that’s plated double-digit runs in 10 games and is scoring right around 12 runs per contest. Pembroke is capable of scoring runs, but will have a better chance of advancing if it can avoid a slugfest.
