In our crowded field of impressive candidates, Amy Klobuchar stands out.
Simply put, Klobuchar can beat Donald Trump. The Washington Post called her “Donald Trump’s Worst Nightmare.” A Union Leader editorial, “Klobuchar’s Appeal,” spoke of her “innate common sense and values” and her “impressive candor.”
She is unique in her commitment to “go where it is uncomfortable,” and delivers wins in red and purple districts. In 2018 she won in 42 Minnesota counties that Trump carried in 2016. While Trump nearly won her home state, Klobuchar won her third term in 2018 by 24%.
Sen. Klobuchar is an extraordinarily effective legislator and a proven progressive. She received the highest rating from the Center for Effective Lawmaking (Klobuchar, 2.85; Elizabeth Warren, .55; Bernie Sanders, .16). Just look at the issues she has championed in over 100 bills she passed as the lead Democrat: election security; small-business promotion; sexual assault survivor protection; closing the gun ownership boyfriend loophole; broadband expansion; and addressing homelessness among veterans, adoption, cold case prosecution and victim justice, school security, and mental health early intervention.
Klobuchar makes promises she can keep. She states how she will pay for every single initiative she champions.
Time to commit. Klobuchar is our best answer to Donald Trump.
