COVID-19 has affected people in many ways. For my family, it hit us hard. In December, all four of us ended up with positive tests. My girls and I were symptomatic but not like my husband, who ended up in the ICU of Concord Hospital on a ventilator for eight days. The month of December was a difficult one.
Now that our family has recovered, I am writing this letter to thank all of the people who helped us. Thank you to the Hopkinton EMTs who brought my husband to the hospital. Thank you to the amazing doctors and nurses at Concord Hospital for the outstanding care he received, especially while in the Intensive Care Unit. Thank you to the medical personnel who live in Hopkinton who were able to put eyes on him and report back to me from an insiderโs view. Thank you to the nurses at the Concord VNA who have helped with his recovery.
We are also incredibly grateful for the support offered to our family while he was in hospital. Thank you to those who made meals and brought us groceries. Thank you to those who donated funds to help. Thank you for the text messages, phone calls, prayers, and notes of encouragement. Thank you for the help of snow plowing during that intense December storm. We are so appreciative for all the support.
COVID-19 is a terrible virus. We will never forget how our community came together to help us get through it.
