Police say a driver was trapped inside his vehicle Sunday afternoon following a crash on Interstate 89 in Concord.
The 53-year-old from Billerica, Mass., had to be extricated from the car, which came to rest against a tree and nearly perpendicular to the ground, according to state police. The front end of the vehicle was facing downward and the driver trapped behind the wheel.
First responders had to cut down trees and remove the driver’s side door to rescue the man, who police have not yet named.
He was taken by ambulance to Concord Hospital for treatment
of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to the single-car crash Sunday at about 3:20 p.m. The interstate was reduced to one travel lane for approximately an hour and a half following the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
