Hope and Jeff Wells
Remember last year when you thought the new Rundlett was a done deal at the Broken Ground site because the School Board was not listening to the people of Concord? But we brought you hope in the form of two charter amendments that were approved overwhelmingly at the November election.
Here we are again/still with the School Board not listening to your serious cost concerns by approving a $155 million middle school. We canโt afford that much โ your taxes will probably go up by $500 or more per year just for that one school. And donโt forget how the city is going to raise your taxes for a $40 million new police station, $30 million overdue upgrade to Memorial Field and necessary improvements to the water treatment plant.
Why canโt we have a new school for somewhere around $90-100 million like other cities and towns? At that cost we could pay for the school AND have most of the money needed for the police station/Memorial Field โ all for what is now going to be spent on the school alone.
Please vote Jeff Wells for School Board in Wards 5, 6 and 7. Bring hope and fiscal restraint back to our School Board. If not, you may regret it every single time you pay your property tax bill for years to come!
