Pembroke, NH – Diane L. Hartford, 74 of Pembroke, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on November 21, 1951, in Manchester; daughter of the late Rene and Stella (Clement) Allaire.
Diane was employed for many years as the Administrative Assistant to the DOT commissioner until her retirement. Once she retired, she worked in the kitchen at Pembroke Academy serving the student’s lunch. She loved being in the kitchen, cooking and baking, spending time with family and friends. She liked to read, go on shopping trips or spend time with her animals.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Edgar Hartford, Sr. in 2008 and her son, Jeffrey Bokum in 2012.
She is survived by her son Edgar Hartford, Jr. and his wife Amanda; a stepdaughter, Heather Chapdelaine; sisters, Priscilla Morissette and her husband Gillis, Denise Richard and her husband Donald and Donna Sonberg; grandchildren, Ava L. Hartford and Gabriel Bokum, her dog, Stella and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brief visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 10AM-10:30AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held beginning at 10:30AM in the church. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allenstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Activity Fund, Mast Road, Goffstown.
