Beta Technologies, the Vermont startup making electric passenger-carrying airplanes, has sold five of them to Logan Air, a short-haul regional airline in Scotland. This story (https://www.thenational.scot/news/26295429.loganair-set-europes-first-all-electric-air-fleet/) says Logan will become an all-electric airline.
Five Alia Ctol (CX300) electric aircraft have been purchased, with options for a further five also included. They are expected to enter passenger and cargo service in 2029, making Loganair the first commercial airline in Europe to use all-electric planes in their fleet.
I’ve written about Beta Technologies several times, such as here and here. I’m pleasantly surprised that they haven’t left the Burlington area yet; you’d think they’d go to bigger cities to get engineers and funding.
