David J. Hickey

Louden, NH – David J. Hickey, 87, of Loudon, NH, passed away on July 17, 2026.

Born on June 2, 1939, in Auburn, Massachusetts, Dave was the eldest son of Leon and Betty (Owens) Hickey.

Dave graduated from New England College in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He spent the majority of his professional career with PSNH and was an advocate for the engineering profession, including serving as President of the NH Chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Dave proudly served in the New Hampshire Army National Guard from 1966 to 1969.

On June 27, 1964, Dave married Jean Vezeau. Together, they shared fifty-six wonderful years of marriage. They raised their family in Bow, NH, before retiring to Bow Lake, where they enjoyed many happy years surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of the lake.

Dave was a proud member of Concord Country Club since 1990. He was instrumental in the development and success of the Bow Athletic Club, generously giving his time by serving on numerous boards and committees in the Town of Bow.

Above all, Dave will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and the friendships he cultivated. His integrity, kindness, and steady presence touched many lives. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

Dave was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean (Vezeau) Hickey, on July 30, 2020, as well as by his cherished grandson, Tyler Shaw, in 2018.

Dave is lovingly survived by two sons, Keith Hickey and his wife, Sandra, and Bill Hickey and his wife, Martha; a daughter, Beth Shaw and her husband, Chris; six grandchildren, Chris and Abi Hickey, Steven Hickey, Paul and Cara Hickey, Billy Hickey, Tyler Shaw, and Joshua Shaw; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Lee Hickey and his wife, Carolyn. Dave is also survived by his dear friend Jan Reynolds, whose companionship brought him great joy over the past five years.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at Concord Country Club, 22 Country Club Lane, Concord, NH 03301 on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a brief remembrance ceremony beginning at 5:00 p.m.
