Beagle chasing rabbit on Courser Hill
Amelia Clune’s opinion piece on the Rabbits Who Run Over Courser Hill in the Aug. 14 paper wondered how and why the Webster rooftop installation got there. My beagle Clancy provided the inspiration for the rabbit chase scene. When my husband and I bought the old Cowdry’s General Store building at a bankruptcy sale more 25 years ago, the supports for a removed store sign loomed large on the metal roof. I had the beagle and rabbits fabricated and mounted along with old blue bottles on those supports. I’m so glad they are still there after all these years to be viewed on the corner of Long Street and Route 127.
