Socialism?

I am trying to understand Thom Bloomquist’s LTE of 9/28 re: Socialism. In his letter he cites deaths from “socialist” countries/regions. I did not fact check his numbers, but I wonder what relevance citing “Nazi socialism” deaths, or “Chinese socialism” deaths, or “Islam socialism” deaths, or Communism deaths has to today’s world.

Deaths under Stalin or Hitler were caused by psychotic madmen and happened between 65 and 90 years ago (Ukraine famine 1932-33, WW2 ended 1945, Stalin died 1953, Chinese famine 1958-62). His 300 million deaths from “Islam socialism” is also a mystery as only a few small countries in the Muslim sphere of influence were ever communist, or socialist (Egypt socialized some things in the 60s and 70s) and they also vanished decades ago with deaths being a tiny fraction of his claimed 300 million.Using his logic, one could make a case that Christianity was bad because of the Crusades.

Bloomquist, like Trump and others, are crying “socialism” at every turn because they don’t want to talk about the Iran war, food prices, diesel or Jeffrey Epstein, so they make up a crisis that doesn’t exist to rile up the base. No one is seriously calling for socialism for anything other than Medicare for all and it would take a certain level of stupid to think that Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Jeff Bezos or any other in that world are going to allow the system they have paid for to go away.
