Those who believe in a higher power

Almost every major faith reminds us that whatever we do to the least among us, we do to God. Yet as property taxes skyrocket in our district, vulnerable neighbors face the real threat of losing their homes while Senator Dan Innis uses his marketing background to sell fear and deflection.

While he and his husband are comfortably insulated on their trust-protected 100+ acre farm, Senator Innis blames others for a property tax crisis his own party has overseen for decades. There is something chillingly callous about an elected leader with financial security being dismissive of families who are being squeezed out of their homes. When we look at his voting record, we do not see a steward of the everyperson. We see protections of certain populations while real “other” lives are being dismantled.

A vote for Dan Innis is a vote to turn a blind eye to the suffering at our doorstep. It is a decision to prioritize political loyalty over the sacred gift of conscience.

Before casting your vote on Nov. 3, imagine facing the loss of the home you planned to grow old in. Ask yourself how you will sleep knowing a neighbor down the street may be laying their head down in theirs for the very last time.

We are called not to look away from those on the margins. Truly examine and your conscience. Vote Rebecca Harned for District 7 State Senate.
