Hurray for the Granite Geek’s article about blood donations (Monitor front page, Aug. 20). I am also in the 100-plus club but currently off the list for a year due to travel in a malaria endemic country last April. It kills me to receive urgent requests for my dirt-cheap O+ blood and know I’ll be turned away. Donating is easy, staff is there to make it as painless as possible, and you get cookies and juice. Go for it, all of you who can. And thanks, David!
