Decorated lanterns are beginning to fill the window sills at Creating Community in downtown Concord in advance of Saturday’s Reveling Lights event, when musicians and lantern-carriers will sing and dance as they make their way along Main Street in an old English wassailing tradition.
The revelers will meet at City Plaza in Concord at 4 p.m. on Saturday with their LED-lit lanterns before setting out to bring cheer to select downtown businesses. Anyone will be welcome to join and sing along. The evening will end at Creating Community with refreshments and entertainment.
In addition to Creating Community, the event is being produced by Jacqueline Laufman, Steve Allman and his family. One last lantern-making workshop will take place Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Creating Community, 18 North Main St., Suite 206.
